Halloween kicks off the beginning of the holiday season, which means decorating, overeating and plenty of family and friend gathering together. If you're the type of family who usually hosts the holiday parties, then this post is just for you! Impress your guests and trick-or-treaters with these goolish decorations.
Spookify Your Front Yard
Let your front yard be the first impression by creating your own ghosts. Using chicken wire, you can bend and mold different designs and shapes, creating ghosts, goblins and even women's old fashioned dresses standing upright. Once you have cut your chicken wire to design your spooky piece, spray paint the wire with glow in the dark paint. At night it will look like these ghosts and dresses are standing on their own, looking so real you might even think there's real ghosts in your front lawn.
Creepy Candlesticks
Burning candles are essential for any Halloween party, especially when they're covered in what looks like blood. In order to create the creepy effect, gather a few of your favorite smelling white candles, or if you're not a fan of scents, you can go with unscented all white candles. You'll want to purchase one, if not two red candlesticks as well. Laying down newspaper or something to protect your tabletop surface, light the red candlestick's wick on fire. Once the wick is lit and the candle begins to burn, carefully drop the red burning wax on top of the white candle. You can design the wax droppings however you want, but for the spookiest of looks start from the wick of the white candle and pour downwards, create waterfalls of "blood" going down the sides.
There's Spiders Everywhere!
Spider webs are a great way to quickly add a Halloween feel to your home. At your local party supply store you can find bags of "spider webs", as well as fake, plastic spiders to hang on the webs. Gently pull the spider webs a part, creating very thing webs. The thinner the web, the more realistic it will look. Take your time and add these white webs all throughout your house, as well as outside on bushes, trees and even your front door. Once your webs are setup, place plastic spiders all throughout. The plastic spiders are the final touch in making these webs look real and creepy.
The Best Decoration
Our favorite decoration, and arguably the best decoration around is home insurance. Protect the home you live in, along with your belongings and sentimental possessions with a home insurance policy. Home insurance is also very important when it comes to natural disasters, living in not-so-safe areas and day-to-day accidents. It's hard to predict when a natural disaster will occur, just as hard as it is to predict break-ins and when you'll accidentally fall through the ceiling trying to repair the roof. That's why we recommend updating your policy to make sure those cute new decorations you hung, along with your great-great-grandmother's jewelry is all protected under your roof.
